A pregnancy test is an important tool. Knowing you are pregnant as soon as possible can help you make the decisions that are right for you.

We offer quick and easy pregnancy tests at our clinic, which can be as simple as a urine test. We will test your urine for a hormone called human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG). HCG is released when a fertilized egg attaches to the lining of the uterus. HCG is only found in a woman’s body if she is pregnant. We can also do pregnancy testing by evaluating a blood sample. If you have any questions about our pregnancy testing methods or would like to schedule an appointment, please call our clinic at (212) 308-4988.

HPV is passed on through genital (skin to skin) contact, most often during sexual intercourse. Gardasil is the only HPV vaccine that helps protect against 4 types of HPV. In girls and women from ages 9 to 26, Gardasil helps protect against 2 types of HPV that cause about 75% of cervical cancer cases, and 2 more types that cause 90% of genital warts cases. A pap smear is a screening test for cervical cancer (HPV).

The results for bacterial STDs like Chlamydia and Gonorrhea will show up in approximately 3 days from exposure. For type specific STDs like HIV, Herpes, Hepatitis and Syphilis it will take approximately 2 weeks from exposure.

We offer:

  • Pap Smears – Cervical Cancer Screening
  • Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Testing
  • Sexually Transmitted Disease / Infection Testing

An ultrasound exam is a common procedure that uses high-frequency sound waves to scan a woman’s abdomen and pelvic cavity, creating a picture (sonogram) of the baby and placenta. Although the terms ultrasound and sonogram are technically different, they are used interchangeably and reference the same exam. The traditional exam uses a transducer over the belly to generate 2-D images of a developing fetus.

We offer ultrasound exams as diagnostic procedures to detect abnormalities and conditions related to pregnancy.

Many women begin to experience heavy and / or irregular bleeding in their 30s and 40s, as they begin to get closer to menopause. Heavy periods can take a physical, social, and emotional toll as well.

THERMACHOICE® is a soft, flexible balloon that a doctor inserts in the uterus (womb) to treat the endometrium, the lining of the uterus. It is an effective, non-hormonal treatment for heavy periods. It involves a minimally invasive, 8-minute procedure that can be performed in our office or in a hospital. Thermachoice is intended to treat pre-menopausal women with heavy bleeding (due to benign causes) who do not wish to become pregnant in the future. This process removes the primary source of menstrual bleeding.
